At 20 years of age, Tom is the youngest member of Everything Fitz; however, even at this young age he is already a seasoned performer. Highlights of his career include a five week run at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri where he performed with the 17 member cast of Canadian Powerhouse. His role was that of fiddler and step dancer alongside Shane Cook, Stephanie Cadman and Bogdan Djukic from Bowfire and Tyler Beckett from the bluegrass group The Chapmans.

At the age of 9, Tom had the pleasure of performing on the Tommy Hunter TV Special Talk About the Good Times playing with renowned Canadian fiddler Donny Reid. This was followed by a two month tour with the Memories of a Don Messer Jubilee Show where he performed across the Maritimes and Ontario as guest dancer and fiddler with Scott Woods.

In addition to performing, Tom continues to be very active on the fiddle contest circuit. In the 2010 contest season, he was undefeated in the 18 and under fiddle category and is a two-time Junior Canadian Fiddle Champion. In 2012, he won both Canadian Open Fiddle Championship in Shelburne, ON and the prestigious Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Championship.  Tom also competed at the U.S. Grand Master Fiddler Championship in Nashville, placing 5th.

Tom is quickly making a transition from the music of his roots- Canadian Old-time Fiddling- to creating his own distinct sound and style. With a passion for improvisation, Tom incorporates elements of bluegrass, Texas-swing and jazz into his playing. Influences include Canadian fiddlers Drew Jurecka, Louis Schryer, and Shane Cook as well as American greats Mark O’Connor, Luke Bulla, Aubrey Hayney, and jazz legend Stephane Grapelli. Tom is a versatile performer playing acoustic guitar and mandolin.

Tom is currently studying jazz violin at Humber College in Toronto, ON.  When he’s not playing the fiddle, Tom can be found on his backyard rink pursuing his other passion- hockey!
